Description

The public-private communal service provider Elsur of El Ejido (Almeria) is to apply for a redundancy procedure (ERE) with a consequent loss of 119 staff. Dismissals are to affect workers in the following units: water and sanitation (10), road and construction (16), public buildings (13), electricity (9), warehouse (2), administration (9), and gardening (60).

The company went into consultations with worker representatives. A one-day strike was organized by the latter after discussions remained inconclusive. Negotiations were announced to last until 23th October.
