Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
American computer multinational Dell, which has had a signifcant inward investment presence in Ireland for many years, plans to move into the banking area and create 300 new jobs by the end of 2016 in a new finance unit.
It is suggested that recruitment of 200 new staff will commence immediately, following the announcement in September 2013. The new jobs will arise from the formation of a Dell Bank in Dublin.
It is understood that the new bank will provide finance to business customers to enable them to buy Dell products.
