Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The tourism group Globalia will apply for a redundancy procedure affecting 500 employees. Dismissals will affect employees in the travel agencies belonging to the companies Halcón Viajes and Ecuador. Between 130 and 150 travel agencies offices will be closed, most of them belonging to Halcón Viajes. The measure is due to a drop in the turnover equal to 10% during 2012 and 25% in 2011. Unions foresee that the redundancy procedure will start to be implemented in October 2013.
Updated 21-10-2013
