Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The Danish engineer group, FLSmidth, employing 16,000 people globally, announced the cut of 140 jobs in Denmark. The redundancies are part of an efficiency plan lasting 18 months that will cause 1,100 job losses globally. A total sum of 20 sites will be closed at global level.
Updated, 22-11-2013: As reported, FLSmidth announced plans for further 130 job cuts in Denmark. The timeline for the restructuring plans is not yet available.
