Swiss-based Lonza Group, a biotechnology company supplier to pharmaceutical, healthcare and life science industries is to cut 250 FTE jobs by the end of 2013.
The job reductions will result from the closure of two plants, one in St. Beauzire, France and one in Swords, Ireland. The remainder of the job cuts will be carried out at Lonza’s site in Hopkinton, USA.
As announced the restructuring is due to a cost saving plan and the company plans to move part of its activities at its Visp site in Switzerland.
Lonza currently employs around 11,000 employees worldwide.
