Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
On 14 August 2013, tool producer Fabryka Przyrządów i Uchwytów Bison-Bial announced its plans to create about 120 jobs in the factory of subsidiary company Hartownia Białystok. The new factory is expected to be operational in the first quarter of 2014. The production facility is located in the Białystok Special Economic Zone. The investment is worth 57 mln PLN, but the company will receive 38.8 mln PLN public support from the Operational Programme ‘Innovative Economy’.
Fabryka Przyrządów i Uchwytów Bison-Bial was founded 1948 as a state-owned company (privatized in 1998). The company produces workholding equipment such as chucks, vises, milling fixtures.
