Mercasevilla's layoffs have became effective on the 11th August under the employment regulation (ERE) launched recently by the company, which has reduced the workforce by 85%. After this measure, the company is going to have 28 workers, compared to the 179 it had previously. The ERE was supposed to leave out 129 employees (107 permanent and 22 temporary) although, according to the works council, some 128 have recieved the dismissal letters so far.
