Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Opel, the global cars’ manufacturer belonging to the General Motors Group, is to create 50 new jobs at its Research and Development Center General Motors Powertrain-Europe, located in Turin. The job creation for the Italian site is included in a broader industrial plan that provides 350 new jobs in Europe (see Opel 2013 for job creation in Germany).
The company will hire new engineers with the aim to develop new technologies both in the area engine-transmission and in the area engines. In particular, around 500 engineers are employed in the engines division at the R&D Center of Turin.
