Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
On 18 July 2013, furniture producer Christianapol announced its plans to dismiss all 300 workers in the factory in Łowyń near Międzychód (the Wielkopolskie Voivodeship) by the end of August 2013.
It is reported that the dismissals are related to a worsening financial condition of the company during the recession.
Christianapol is a part of the Cauval Industries Group headquartered in France and it has been operating in Poland since 1989.
