The postal operator Unipost will apply for a redundancy procedure affecting 300 employees of its Spanish staff (12% of its entire workforce in Spain).
This restructuring results in a reduction by 40% from the initial proposal of dismissals. In addition, the company will cut wages by 10%. Currently, the measure is being discussed with the mediation of the Ministry of Employment.
Updated 22-07-2013: Unipost has finally presented a Redundancy Procedure affecting 450 employees (18% of its entire workforce). Moreover, the company will cut wages by 9.5%. According to the union CCOO, the company has rejected the proposal of the mediator, who recommended 400 dismissals.
The union also states that the company will unilaterally convert full-time contracts into part-time contracts and will apply geographical mobility schemes.
