Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
On 26th of June 2013, the management of PSA Peugeot-Citroën site in Mulhouse announced the creation of 200 jobs by September 2013 to respond to increases in demand for the new Peugeot 2008. Last May the site hired 100 employees for the same reason.
PSA intends to create a new shift to double its productivity (from 310 cars built daily in September to 615 mid-October). Working times will be also increased. Additionally, the group will propose new positions to its employees in two sites affected by restructuring measures: Aulnay-sous-Bois (plant closure) and Rennes (1,400 job cuts).
