Description

Avia Ashok Leyland Motors, a Czech subsidiary of the Indian Ashok Leyland vehicle producer, has announced the closure of its Prague plant. Some 227 jobs are going to be lost as the plant will discontinue its operations by the end of July 2013. Reportedly the closure is due to the global economic slowdown. The company's management has decided to move the production of Avia trucks with a 66-years tradition from the Czech Republic to India.
