Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Brembo, leading company in design and manufacturing of braking systems, is to cut 200 jobs at its plants located in Curno (170 jobs) and Mapello (30 jobs). The job cuts are a consequence of the company’s decision to delocalise the braking systems for Mercedes and Porsche customers to its plants located in Czech Republic and Poland. The trade unions have required some meetings to the company in order to find alternative solutions to the delocalisation process.
Brembo has around 2,290 employees in its main Italian plants located at Curno, Mapello and Stezzano (in the province of Bergamo).
