Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
French group Lafuma, an outdoor clothing and equipment manufacturer is to cut 161 jobs. In detail, the company has announced a redundancy plan affecting 83 jobs for its surf brand Oxbow in Gironde (in Merignac and its logistics site in Canéjean). Furthermore, a plan was announced affecting its Lafuma brand site in Anneyron with 78 job cuts and 46 employees relocated to the company’s site in Annecy (France). Oxbow has seen its sales decline about 35% and the Lafuma group has debts of 36 million euros.
