Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The retail chain Carrefour has announced plans to create 300 new jobs in the region Midi-Pyrénées by the end of 2013. The job creation is under the framework of a collaborative partnership with the public employment service (Pôle emploi), aiming to provide jobs for unskilled young workers. The company is offering various types of contracts (including apprenticeships) and also plans to recruit 250 seasonal workers for a period of 3 months. These job creations are part of Carrefour plans to employ 6000 new workers in France in 2013.
In 2012, Carrefour already recruited 200 employees in Midi-Pyrénées. For previous restructuring see here.
