Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
PRA, a US clinical research company, has announced plans to create 100 new jobs in Swansea as a result of a £1.29m grant by the Welsh government. The company will set up a multilingual help desk increasing the number of jobs collecting and managing scientific data. The new posts will be in the collection and management of the data from trials, the management of safety and efficacy profiles of drugs, and the presentation of data to regulatory bodies around the world. PRA is targeting applicants with backgrounds in biology, medicine and mathematics.
