Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
In May 2013, the insurance subsidiary of the group Groupama, GAN prévoyance, has announced 170 jobs cuts by 2013. The management has started the information and consultation process and expects to open a voluntary departure plan in the second semester of 2013. It is the fifth social plan announced within the group as an aftermath of the economic and financial crisis from mid-2011.
For previous announced restructurings see Groupama2012, G2S2012. Altogether, the restructuring plans in the group during the previous three years affected approximately 800 employees. The social plans are decided in the context of a cost saving plan announced in 2012 to save 400 million euros by 2014.
