Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Engineering service provider RBH Logistics, a subsidiary of DB Schenker Rail Deutschland, will cut up to 147 jobs by closing its workshop in Gladbeck-Schultendorf (North Rhine-Westphalia). This is due to an expiring rental contract.
The job cuts will be carried out by the end of September. Maintenance services will be relocated to other workshops owned by Deutsche Bahn. Up to 62 people might be kept; they could possibly be hired by Deutsche Bahn itself.
RBH had previously announced the cut of 101 jobs; most of them have later been otherwise engaged.
RBH Logistics has a total workforce of 830 people.
