Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Insurance brokers Autonet have announced that they are to create 130 new jobs and create a training centre in Stoke on Trent. The company plans to turn its former call centre and headquarters into a training academy. Stoke on Trent City Council has supported the expansion by offering a grant of £50,000. The jobs are expected to be available later in the year. The jobs are initially expected to be part of a state supported training scheme for the first 8 weeks of employment with all candidates offered a guaranteed interview for permanent employment at the end of the period.
