Itella Group, a company operating in mail communications, financial process and logistics, is to cut 290 jobs. Itella (former Finnish Post) operates in several countries and plans to cut up to 350 jobs in Finland, other Nordic countries, Baltic countries and Poland. 290 of these redundancies will affect administrative and supervisory positions in Finland.
The restructuring is part of a cost saving programme and negotiations are announced to commence soon. Moreover, the company promises to offer severance packages and other support to redundant employees. The group also announced collaboration with IBM for the outsourcing of 123 jobs, as of 1st June 2013. It is unknown yet how many of these job cuts refer to Finland.
