Description
The Range, a supplier of garden and household appliances, will close its distribution center in Mitcheldean, Gloucestershire resulting in the loss of 300 jobs. The company will move the center to Doncaster in a bid to improve efficiency of the business. The center will close in September and the company has started a consultation process with affected staff and stated that it would try to reemploy as many as possible.
Update 04-05-2013: The Rang has announced plans to create 300 new jobs in Scotland. The company will open two new stores in Glasgow and Aberdeen by the end of the summer. Some 150 new jobs will be created in each store, comprising managers, sales assistants, warehouse and administrative staff.
