Description
Heracles Cement, subsidiary of Lafarge has announced the closure of its production unit in Chalkida, Greece. As a result its 236 workers lose their jobs. As announced, the closure is part of a restructuring plan aiming to help the group recover from the deep recession in the construction sector. According to the sources the trade union plans mobilizations. The company operates another two production plants and six distribution centers in Greece.
