Description
On 22 March 2013 deputy minister Fred Teeven (Ministry of Justice) announced that 27 prisons will be closed in the coming years. The plan (to be implemented by 2018) affects 3,700 jobs. According to the announcement, 2,400 jobs are expected to be lost and additionally 1,300 employees are going to be redeployed. In consultation with the trade unions a social plan will be implemented.
