Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
On the 9th of April 2013, Cauval Industries group announced plans to cut 534 jobs. In detail, 337 jobs which refer to the group company OC Management and another 197 referring to sofa manufacturer Atmosphères Intériors based in Bar-sur-Aube. The final decision will be made by the Commercial Court of Meaux.
Updated, 27/03/2013 As announced, OC Management went bankrupt and 202 jobs were lost.
Updated, 08/04/2013 The Commercial Court of Meaux (Seine et Marne) decided on the liquidation of Confort et Systèmes (220 employees) in Séverac-le-Château (Aveyron). The manufacturer of furniture is owned by group Cauval (4,600 employees). The Court decided that Confort et Systèmes has to cease immediately its activities and all the employees were dismissed.
