Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The Swedish paper manufacturer Holmen Paper has announced that it is to cut 180 jobs at its paper mill in Norrköping, due to the continued weak market for printing paper. The measure follows a decision to close one of the three paper machines at Braviken Paper Mill during the third quarter of 2013.
Holmen Paper has restructured on several occasions in recent years. Previous rounds of employment adjustments at Holmen Paper are covered in factsheets 22059, 19202, 15742, 14428, 11447,14389, 11014.
The job losses will be implemented by the third quarter of 2013.
