Description
Abbott Laboratories, American global pharmaceuticals and health care products company, is to make approximately 200 staff redundant at its plant in Clonmel, County Tipperary. It is understood that staff will be made redundant at its vascular manufacturing facility. The management states that the restructuring is necessary in order to remain competitive.
Redundancies are expected to be implemented after a 30-day consultation period. The company hopes to implement the redundancies on a voluntary basis.
Abbott employs 1,400 people in Clonmel.
