Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
RCS MediaGroup, an international multimedia publishing group, is to cut 800 jobs, up to 640 of which in Italy.
The company has announced to the RCS European Works Council (EWC) the new business plan that proposes 800 job cuts in Europe. In Italy, 600-640 employees will be affected by the restructuring plan which also includes the sale or closure of 10 magazines. Moreover the company will sell the historic headquarter of the newspaper Corriere della Sera, located in the centre of Milan.
The EWC reacted to the company’s decision, criticizing the plan and organizing protest actions.
