Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The bakery enterprise Pekarna Blatnik has been declared bankrupt and all 100 employees will consequently be dismissed.
The company had ambitious plans about expansion into new lines of business (investment in the promotion of a new brand name for a franchise system Happy pek) and internationalisation by establishing a company in Serbia. The plans proved to be too optimistic and the company started facing problems when it became clear that they were unable to repay the loans. The employees have not been paid their wages since November, when the company was put into receivership.
Pekarna Blatnik is a baker's products maker, originally from Videm-Dobrepolje in the Osrednjeslovenska region and currently employs 100 people.
