Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
On 30 January 2013, the Polish supplier of ammunition and military equipment, Bumar announced plans to cut 100 jobs by the end of April 2013.
On 21 January 2013, the company signed with the local trade unions the bilateral agreement on the collective dismissal programme’s conditions. There will also be reductions in wages. The company has agreed to offer re-employment support to redundant employees.
Bumar Group consists of 40 companies, including 20 manufacturing and trading companies specialised in production of munitions, radars, rockets and armour.
