Description
Mexican cement firm, Cemex, will apply for a Redundancy Procedure affecting 156 employees out of a total of 1,077.
The measure is blamed on the decline in demand in the cement industry. Other cement manufacturers in Spain have recently undergone restructuring such as Cementos Portland (see here) and Holcim (see here).
Negotiations with the unions are still ongoing. This is the second plan being presented to staff, after 290 employees lost their jobs at the end of 2012.
