Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
On 11 December 2012, producer of car seats and other car equipment, Johnson Controls announced plans to cut 117 jobs in the factory in Bierun (located in the Katowice Special Economic Zone). The dismissals will be implemented by the end of March 2013.
The restructuring programme is directly assiociated with the dismissals and reduction of production announced in December 2012 in Fiat, a customer of Johnson Controls (see here).
The factory in Bierun employs 500 people.
