Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The Vienna branch of the Public Employment Service AMS has hired 100 new employees and plans to hire an additional 50 until the end of 2014.
The new personnel will be employed as counselors, providing unemployed with information on labour market programmes and jobs. Interestingly, special emphasis is put on employees with foreign language skills – to address unemployed migrants in their mother tongue – and own experiences with unemployment. Two new branch offices were opened in January.
