Description

Holcim, manufacturer of cement and cement products, is to cut 180 out of 540 jobs in Italy. The job cuts will mainly affect the plants of Merone (in the province of Como) and Ternate (in the province of Varese).

The trade unions reacted to the company’s decision by organizing a one-day strike and blockading the gates of the Merone plant.
