Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Clothing retail group Etam announced that it will cut 140 jobs in the Netherlands, out of a total of 2,500.
Forty jobs will be cut at the head office in Zoetermeer, while the remaining 100 will be lost at individual branches. It is reported that the background for the restructuring are financial losses due to changing market conditions.
As of yet, there is no timeline for the restructuring as the company is currently in consultation with the unions.
