Description
Scana Steel Björneborg, steel refining and steel working company, is to let go of 28 employees due to the economic decline and to improve competitiveness and profitability. The reductions are distributed on 21 blue-collar and 7 white-collar workers. The reduction in staffing is just one of several cost cutting measures that is to be implemented.
Scana Steel Björneborg is a subsidiary of the Nordic industrial group Scana. Scana group has activities in three business areas, steel, marine, and oil and gas. Earlier employment adjustments by Scana in Sweden are covered in fact sheet 14393.
As of January 2013 there is no information about when the reductions will start taking effect or when they will be implemented by.
