Description

On 20 December 2012, German publisher and media retailer Weltbild announced plans to end its activities in Poland by the end of June 2013. As a result, 320 employees will be dismissed.

Gunther Gerlach, director of Weltbild, revealed that main reason behind this decision is the fact that the company has not found a business partner in Poland. The company is still looking for an investor who will take over the bookstore chain Świat Książki (38 bookstores across the country).

Weltbild has been operating in Poland since 2000.
