Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
At the end of November 2012, Nokia Siemens Networks (NSN) announced to close its Bruchsal site. The closure affects 650 employees who will be made redundant. The latest job cuts follow a bigger restructuring programme, which was initially announced at the beginning of 2012. At that time the telecommunications equipment provider NSN stated to cut 2,900 jobs in Germany (see here).
Talks with employee representatives are to be held.
