As announced on November 30, 2012, German light bulb manufacturer Osram will cut 400 jobs in Germany. This is due to increased competition.
Osram is to be separated from its mother company Siemens and in this context already announced to make 850 people redundant in January (see here). The additional job reduction, which shall be realized until 2014, mainly affects the sites in Berlin, Wipperfürth (North Rhine-Westphalia) and Munich (Bavaria).
Worldwide, Osram will cut 4,700 additional jobs.
