Description
Mittmedia, newspaper publisher and media group, is to let go of up to 150 employees due to dropping subscriptions and profits from advertisement. Mittmedia publishes 17 local newspapers in middle and mid-northern Sweden, and a weekly magazine. The group also runs a printing company and operates web news services, commercial radio stations and free newspapers. Of the redundancies, 100 will affect editorial staff.
To avoid direct dismissals employees are encouraged to leave on early retirement. Long time employees are also offered severance pay.
The reductions are to be completely implemented within three years’ time.
