Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
IKEA Communications, producer of the IKEA catalogue, is to reduce its staff by 80 employees in Älmhult, as the company will undergo reorganisation. 50 people will be made redundant, while 30 jobs are relocated to a new site in Malmö. The division remaining in Älmhult will be made up of the production operations, while the creative operations are moved to Malmö. The new organisation is meant to increase efficiency, partly by the closer proximity to the European market.
The reorganisation will be implemented within eight months, in August 2013.
IKEA Communications is a part of IKEA Group. IKEA Group, with INGKA Holding as parent company, is in turn owned by Stichting INGKA Foundation.
