Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
American-based company TRW Automotive announced plans to cut 180 jobs at the factory in Częstochowa by the end of 2013. The restructuring is attributed to the general economic slowdown of the automotive market and a drop in orders.
TRW Automotive is a global supplier of automotive systems, modules and other components. The company has over 200 facilities in 26 countries and employs over 70,000 people.
TRW Automotive has six factories in Poland in Czechowice-Dziedzice, Częstochowa, Gliwice, Bielsko-Biała (all of these facilities are located in the Katowice Special Economic Zone) and Pruszków near Warsaw. TRW has been operating in Częstochowa since 1990 and employs 4,693 people in the city (in 2 factories, a R&D centre and a financial centre).
