Azimut-Benetti, Italian manufacturer of yachts and mega-yachts, has announced 550 job cuts.
The company is to close its plant in Sariano di Gropparello (province of Piacenza), with the consequent loss of 200 jobs. Moreover, the company is planning 350 job cuts (out of 1,150) at Avigliana site, in the province of Turin. According to the company, the reorganization plan is due to the economic crisis and the consequent fall in demand.
Azimut-Benetti operates worldwide and it is the largest private group in the yachting sector. In Italy it has around 2,000 employees.
