Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Prevent Halog a car-seat manufacturer based in the Podravska region is planning 213 job cuts.
The cuts are attributed to a reduction in orders. The company will reduce the number of employees from current 750 to 537, of which the majority is women. The timeframe of lay-offs is not yet known but procedures will probably begin in December.
The management has stated that the workforce reduction is unavoidable in order to survive the crisis, and the company, who is a major employer in the region, pledged to minimize the negative social effects as much as possible.
