Description
On 6 November 2012, the Swedish-Swiss energy group ABB began the construction of a new unit in Łódź which will produce transformers. The company announced the creation 140 jobs upon completion, mainly for machine operators, logistics specialists and engineers.
The factory is expected to be operational by the end of June 2013. ABB plans to invest approximately 30 million dollars. The company has been operating in Poland since 1990 and it employs over 1,400 people in two Polish factories located in Łódź and Aleksandrów Łódzki. The new unit will raise the number of employees in Łódź to about 1000. ABB is active in 100 countries and employs 145,000 people worldwide.
