Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The company Ficosa Electronics, specialized in the manufacture of automotive parts, has applied for a Redundancy Procedure affecting 259 employees.
On the other hand, Ficosa has stated that it will keep the remaining 330 workers of Ficosa Electronics once the subrogation agreement the company signed with Sony ends at the end of 2012. In addition, 56 workers left the company in September and October through the previous redundancy plan. The agreement with Sony allows for 45 days compensation per year worked for voluntary redundancies and for employees who will be out of work at the end of the subrogation.
