Distribution company Clipper Logistics has announced that it is to create 400 jobs at a new site at Teeside. The company announced that 95 of the new jobs would be filled by workers from other centres, with 305 being new appointments.
The company is working closely with retailer ASDA to manage the logistics of the George clothing brand. Teeside is now the largest clothing warehouse in the region and is expected to handle around three million items of clothing a week. It will be used as the import base for clothes being produced in Asia.
