Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Kraft Foods Namur announced its intention to cut 66 jobs. The company produces cream cheese for England, Italy and Spain.
According to the management, the changes in the organization of work arise from the need for the company to be aligned with the current economic context but also to remain competitive. The unions criticize the company for recently investing 2.8 million for modernization of tools at the expense of human labour. The unions stated they were surprised by the announcement but their priority is to first negotiate with the management in order to minimize the job losses and the social consequences of the restructuring.
