Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Danish state energy company Dong Energy announced to cut between 500 and 600 jobs due to a deficit of DKK 2.4 billion (€320 million) during the first nine months of the year. The problems are reported to be partly due to a difficult situation in the European gas market, characterized by oversupply and low profits.
Dong Energy has more than 5,000 employees in Denmark and is headquartered in Skærbæk at Fredericia.
Update 28.11.2012: The employees were informed that the number of redundancies will be limited to 324. This is the outcome of negotiations between the management and employee representatives.
