Meritor, US-based manufacturer of parts for heavy vehicles, is letting go of 195 employees in Lindesberg due to a decrease in orders. 95 job cuts concern permanent and 100 redundancies concern temporary employees.
Negotiations about the job-losses will begin at the end of the first week of November. The local chapter of the Union of Metalworkers (IF Metall) has recognised the fact that the company is higly sensitive to the global economic situation and has noticed a drop in orders.
