Sertubi used to belong to Duferco group, but after heavy losses, the plant was recently leased to the Indian Jindal group. The production of tubes and pipes will be offshored to India and the Trieste site will focus on storage and business activities. As a result, only 60 employees will be able to keep their jobs.
